Pick Me, Please — complete guide
How to Play
Pick Me, Please is a friend-vs-friend fantasy draft platform. You're not playing against the house — you're playing against the people in your group. Everything lives inside a League, and inside every League you can run as many draft games as you like.
Getting started
Four steps to playing
Everything you need to go from zero to competing.
Join or create a League
Get an invite link from a friend, or request to start your own League.
Join a draft game
Pick your game type, pay the buy-in if there is one, and start competing.
Your home base
Leagues
A League is the hub for your group. Every draft game exists inside a League, so all your friends are always in one place. Think of it as your private club — you decide who's in, what you play, and what's at stake.
What a League gives you
- A shared member list — everyone in the League can join any draft game inside it.
- A custom currency — name it anything: Pickles, Euros, Carrots, Candles. The League owner sets it up.
- A Ranking page showing who's up and who's down across all draft games.
- A Buy-ins overview so the owner can track everyone's balance in one place.
- Multiple draft games running at the same time — every format, any number of games.
Pick Me, Please doesn't handle real money
PMP tracks currency balances inside your League, but it only facilitates the draft games. If your group decides to play for real stakes, settling up is between you and your friends. PMP keeps the score — you sort the cash.
Who does what
Roles explained
There are two main roles in Pick Me, Please. A player can hold both in the same League at the same time.
As a Participant
- Join a League via an invite link shared by the owner.
- Browse open draft games inside your League and join the ones you want.
- Pay the buy-in (if one is set) from your League currency balance.
- Make your picks before each deadline.
- Track your position on the Ranking page.
- Request currency from the League owner, or submit a payout request when you're owed.
As a Draft Game Creator
- Choose a draft game type and configure all settings (buy-in, deadlines, lives, rounds…).
- Open the lobby so other League members can join.
- Run the game — close rounds, enter results, declare winners.
- Settle the buy-in once the draft game ends; the League owner records payouts.
- Or use an — then you don't have to do anything after setup.
As a League Owner
The League owner holds both roles above, plus exclusive management powers over the entire League.
- Create the League and generate invite links for members.
- Set the League name, accent colour, and custom currency (name + icon).
- Grant currency to members — useful when a player has topped up IRL and you want to reflect that in-app.
- Record payouts when you've actually paid out winnings to a member.
- Access the Buy-ins overview — a full table of every member's balance at a glance.
- Remove members from the League if needed.
- View any member's full currency history.

Snake Draft Game
Serpentine turns — last pick each round becomes first in the next.
Players take turns selecting items one at a time in a fixed order. At the end of every round the order reverses — so if round 1 goes 1 → 2 → 3, round 2 goes 3 → 2 → 1. This snake pattern means the player who picked last always gets the first pick of the next round, keeping things balanced across all rounds. The draft game ends once every player has made their full set of picks.
As the draft game creator
- 1.Set the number of rounds and picks per player.
- 2.Decide the pick order — or randomise it.
- 3.Once everyone is in the lobby, start the draft game.
- 4.Players pick one item per turn; the order snakes each round.
- 5.The draft game ends when all rounds are complete.

Auction Draft Game
Nominate items and bid. Strategy meets budget.
Every player starts with the same number of credits. Players take turns nominating an item for auction, then everyone bids in real time. The highest bidder wins the item and pays their bid from their budget. The catch: you must always keep at least 1 credit per remaining pick — so you can never go broke before you're done. Spend big early and risk running dry later, or stay patient and pick up bargains.
As the draft game creator
- 1.Set the credit budget each player starts with.
- 2.Set how many items each player must end up with.
- 3.Open the lobby and start bidding once everyone is in.
- 4.Players take turns nominating items; everyone bids in real time.
- 5.The draft game ends when all slots are filled.

Survivor Draft Game
Pick a winner each round. A wrong guess costs a life.
Each round every player secretly picks one item they believe will win — before the deadline set by the draft game creator. Once the deadline passes, the creator closes the round and reveals the result. Pick correctly and you survive. Pick wrong and you lose a life. No more lives and you're out. You can never reuse an item you've already picked in a previous round, so choosing gets harder as the draft game progresses. The last player (or group of players) still standing wins.
As the draft game creator
- 1.Set how many lives each player starts with.
- 2.Set a deadline for picks each round.
- 3.When the deadline hits, close the round and enter the result.
- 4.Players who picked correctly survive; wrong picks lose a life.
- 5.Eliminate players with no lives left; last one standing wins.

Blind Draft Game
Secret picks revealed all at once after the deadline.
Everyone secretly picks the item they think will win — without seeing anyone else's choice. When the deadline hits, all picks are revealed at the same time and the creator declares the winning item. Every player who picked the winner shares the prize pool equally. The strategy is in reading the room: a popular pick splits the pot with more winners, while a bold contrarian call pays far more if you're right.
As the draft game creator
- 1.Set a deadline for the round.
- 2.Once the deadline hits, reveal all picks and declare the winning item.
- 3.Players who picked the winner share the prize pool equally.
- 4.Run as many rounds as you like.

Automated templates
Pick Me, Please offers managed templates for popular real-world competitions — like the Eredivisie or a Premier League Survivor draft. When you use a template, the platform does the heavy lifting for you.
Automatic scoring
Scores update as real matches are played. No manual entry needed by anyone — not even the draft game creator.
No admin overhead
Rounds are closed automatically and results are recorded without any action from the League owner or draft game creator.
Fair & transparent
Every result comes directly from the real competition. The platform is the referee — no disputes, no delays.
Ready to go
Just create the draft game from a template, invite your League members, and the draft game runs itself from there.
Available templates depend on active competitions. New templates are added as competitions begin. Check the draft game creation screen to see what's currently available.
Money talk
Currency & buy-ins
Each League has its own currency — named whatever the owner likes. Every member has a balance in that currency, and draft games can optionally require a buy-in to enter.
How does a buy-in work?
The draft game creator sets a buy-in amount when creating the draft game. To join, you need enough currency in your balance. When you join, the buy-in is locked in. Winners share the total prize pool when the game is settled by the League owner.
Where does my currency come from?
The League owner grants currency to members — either upfront at the start of a season, or whenever you top up in real life. Your balance goes up when the owner grants currency, and goes down when you join a draft game with a buy-in.
Can I go negative?
Only if the draft game creator enables it. When 'allow negative balance' is turned on, you can join a draft game even if your balance is too low — but you'll owe the League owner the difference. Settle up with them directly.
How are winnings paid out?
When the draft game is settled, winners' balances are updated in-app. If your group plays for real money, the League owner pays you in real life and then records that payout in PMP — keeping everyone's balance accurate.
Does Pick Me, Please handle real money?
No. PMP only tracks balances inside your League. All real-money settlements happen between you and your friends. PMP is the scoreboard; you sort the cash.
